Sources and limits

New screen enclosures use Angi's 2026 screen material range of $8 to $15 per square foot (polycarbonate runs $20 to $200 and glass $30 to $75). Angi's typical total is $6,944 to $18,831. Angi's typical total is $6,944 to $18,831 (average $12,055), which lines up with applying its rate to the cage footprint, so that is what we do for new builds.

For rescreens, two Florida companies (Mr. Pool Screen and Rescreen Rescue, both 2026) put a full professional rescreen at $7 to $9 per square foot installed. Rescreen Rescue says that rate is measured on the total screen area, roof plus sides, so we use your wall height for that. Mr. Pool Screen adds 20% to 40% for two-story or high-access cages. However, Rescreen Rescue also says a typical full rescreen costs $1,500 to $4,500 or more, which is far lower than the per square foot math gives for most cages. We show both numbers because the sources do not agree. Treat them as a wide range and ask each contractor how they measure.

Florida notes

In Florida, new enclosures are permitted structures that must meet local wind-load requirements, which is a big reason prices differ by county. Florida's Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act (Chapter 515) also requires new residential pools to have at least one safety feature, such as a barrier, approved cover, or alarms. A screen enclosure can count as the barrier if it meets the statute's requirements, so ask your builder. See our Florida pool costs guide.
